I've been itching to share this incredible experience with you from the recent Stripped-Down Alumni Workshop, and believe me, it's a tale worth telling. 📖✨
Our mentor, ever the visionary, decided to turn up the heat by challenging us to explore other realms of photography. Little did we know, the real challenge awaited us in the form of two remarkable ladies who had never experienced a photoshoot before. As we dived into our pre-session chat, the atmosphere was filled with giggles and nervous laughter.
Enter the spice levels—mild, medium, or spicy? Challenge accepted, game on!
Our task was to make these two nervous but eager ladies feel comfortable in less than five minutes per set. The excitement and nerves were palpable, and one of them, in particular, was shaking with a few twitches due to her nerves. The mission was clear—make her feel safe, seen, and create art that resonated with her soul.
In the videos, you'll notice a moment where I slowed down with her. Yes, I didn't capture as many images, but what I did capture were powerful moments of her softening into herself. I took the opportunity to challenge her, coaxing her to look at the camera—an arduous task for her. The result? A masterpiece that reflected her journey of self-discovery.
After the first day, she gained a smidge of confidence but still grappled with the idea of being seen. She yearned to see her softer side, a glimpse of her growing confidence. It wasn't until the second day that she truly blossomed, embracing the coaching and direction with open arms. The takeaway? Sometimes it takes time to warm up, especially when it comes to intimate portraits.
